Many owners, as a rule, think that seeds are sufficient for the well-being of their feathered pets. As a matter of fact, this is one of the most popular and at the same time dangerous delusions about feeding birds. Indeed, seeds are a pleasure, but they seldom can provide proper nutrition by themselves.
They require a balanced diet that will support their energy level, quality of feathers, digestion, and their immune health. Pellets, fresh vegetables, and leafy greens assist in filling in where seeds just can't supply the nutrients. Poor nutrition often presents itself slowly through dull feathers, low energy, weak immunity, or behavioral changes.
Consistency is also an important aspect. Stress in birds can be due to the sudden change of diet, therefore new foods are given gradually. Fresh, clean water should be available at all times, as dehydration in birds is swift.
A balanced diet directly impacts a bird's mood, activity, and life span. Well-nourished birds are more attentive, interactive, and able to withstand health challenges. Nutritional care is not an upgrade—it is the foundation of health.
